Whether your school district is large or small, we all face common challenges. One of those challenges is also an opportunity: the internet is changing the way people and organizations interact, and school nutrition programs are no different. As we work together to understand, implement, and master the principles that will lead to success, we can all benefit from each other’s experiences. School Lunch 2.0 was created by and for the school nutrition community to help us all take advantage of this great opportunity. It is a collaborative project that involves many organizations and people — a community — and that seeks to help all of us succeed.
This is a place where you can find the latest information on how to use communication and technology to improve your relationship with your customers. You can read about what other school districts are doing, and quickly find best practices or even people to bounce your ideas off of. We’re a community – join us!
The term “School Lunch 2.0″ hails from the software world – referring to the second version of school lunch: programs that leverage new technologies and best practices in communication to improve and manage the relationship with our customers, both parents and students. Social media websites like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and YouTube are giving people a new way to express themselves, and to connect to the organizations and people they care about. We hope that this website will be a helpful tool to get you and your district off to a good start with social media.
If you would like to be involved in School Lunch 2.0, either as a columnist, curator of a list within the directory, or in some other capacity, please reach out to us and let us know. We’re a community, so we’re always happy to have more members working to support the cause. You can contact us at
